Some questions about HipChat

Good day,

Please answer a few questions:

1. As I understand it, In the server version of HipChat video chat is used for all server located in the cloud, in the cloud version of the video chat is only available with the HipChat Plus. If we buy the server version of your software and install it on the server, will we need to pay 2 $ per user per month additional for video chat?

2. In the cloud version of HipChat, a single user client installs itself on the smartphone and laptop simultaneously and runs them. How many licenses he uses - one or two?.

3. If we will acquire cloud-based HipChat Plus, if we can clear the entire history of correspondence, including private messages, users quickly by pressing one button? If not, is it possible there's a revision for us?.

4. If we purchase the server version, will we be able to clear all of the correspondence, including private messages, users quickly by pressing one button? If not, is it possible there's a revision for us?

Hi Ivan,

1. A HipChat Server (HCS) license includes video service
2. HCS licenses are by user account total, not chat session total.  2+ devices, 1 user = 1 account
3. HipChat cloud does not offer 1:1 message retention management. You can email support@hipchat.com to request a full deletion of 1:1 and group chat history
4. HCS does not offer 1:1 history retention options either. But you can export user accounts, rooms, group chat history, files and omit 1:1 chat history. That export can be loaded to a new HCS instance.
