Restarting HipChat data center

We have HipChat data center (v 3) in the small scale configuration (https://confluence.atlassian.com/hipchatdc3/set-up-a-small-scale-hipchat-data-center-cluster-939689319.html).

Just wondering, how do we restart? I've seen the command:

hipchat service --restart

online - will this work?

Hi, Jonathan.

The command you shared only restarts the services that are running in the node and disconnect all user sessions that are currently active. If you are looking at completely rebooting the node as a whole, run the following command instead:

sudo reboot now

For example, you will get something that looks like this.

admin@ip-10-10-10-5:~$ sudo reboot now

Broadcast message from admin@ip-10-10-10-5
(/dev/pts/4) at 2:51 ...

The system is going down for reboot NOW!
admin@ip-10-10-10-5:~$ Connection to 10.10.10.5 closed by remote host.

I would recommend you to backup the instance first before restarting the node. Out of curiosity, is there any specific reason as to why the restart is needed?
