Jira Hipchat Integration - SSLHandshakeException while adding Hipchat API key

I get the following error when I enter the Admin Token in Jira:

Error

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Generally, this error happens because the certificate of the target application is not trusted by the source application, because the certificate or chain of certificates cannot be found in the source application's JVM truststore.
