Is there a bug which prevents me and my company from using Video Calls?

Timur Onder November 16, 2016

When we try to call one another, we get a notification saying that the other person is calling us and when we click 'Answer' it starts a call with only yourself in it.

For example, Person A click the video call button in a 1-to-1 chat with Person B. A then gets a notification saying that B is calling and clicks 'Answer'. A is then in a video call alone, able to see themselves on their webcam. B doesn't receive any notification of a call taking place.

Hopefully that all makes sense and an answer can be provided ASAP as we just moved to HipChat and this is an extremely disappointing discovery. Oh, and the option to audio call someone does not exist either.

@Timur Onder - this sounds like some kind of bug. Clicking the video call button in a 1-1 should immediately open the video window for the calling user and trigger a notification for the person receiving the call. To help diagnose, getting logs for when this happens would be beneficial? Please contact our support team at support@hipchat.com so we can help diagnose your problem - we'll try to get you and your team sorted out ASAP!
