Is my IP visible to anyone ? Hide IP possible ?

You'll need to explain that further - IP has at least two possible meanings in this context.

Thanks Nic Brough for answering.

I am new to Hipchat.

My first concern is SECURITY. NOBODY SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE MY IP.

I don't need to establish a server.. Just a chat group.

On other IM apps, people can hack on each other when they know their IP address. How to avoid this in HipChat ?

To my modest knowledge; IP has one meaning. Please; instruct.

Thanks

Yup - IP address is the usual way to clarify that you don't mean "intellectual property" - something that is often a security concern.

HipChat does not expose your IP address as a client, although it can log it (so admins who can read the logs can find it).  There's plenty of other ways to find out your IP of course, but a simple HipChat session won't do it.

HipChat Server owners can track your client IP address (and intellectual property shared via that HipChat Server)

The cloud product *.hipchat.com does not disclose your client IP address, though it does track sessions by type: Android, web, IOS, etc.

Thank you for yor answer.

I had asked if you will be able to make the IP (Internet Protocole) address inaccessible to group admins. If this is now possible, please inform me. I have the possibility to bring more than 5000 customers with me.

Security is my first concern.

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

I don't think you are asking the right question.

An IP address is what it sounds like, it's an address, like that of a house.

You can't "make an IP address inaccessible to a group".  Same way you can't make your house invisible from the street to people in red hats.

Could you explain what you are trying to do?
