Integrate Cloud version of hipchat with Hosted Jira

sri va July 13, 2015

Hi,

We have a setup where JIRA, and Confluence is behind our firewall, and not accessible outside the office.

We are now looking at using the cloud version of Hipchat, and would want to achieve the following

Hipchat needs to communicate with other atlassian toolsets (Jira, Confluence, Stash and Bamboo)

Hipchat needs to have same login creds as Jira.(nice to have)

Could anyone let me know if this is possible, and if so how we can achieve this.

Thanks in advance

Hi Sri,

Atlassian toolsets (Jira, Confluence, Stash and Bamboo) will be able to communicate with HipChat - i.e. they will be able to send notifications see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+JIRA+with+HipChat for more details.

Hipchat needs to have same login creds as Jira.(nice to have)

Unfortunately it is not possible right now unless people explicitly create their HipChat accounts with the same credentials.

Hi Sri,

Atlassian offers a Server installation of HipChat, so you can set that up behind your firewall as well. This can integrate with your directory service, Crowd if you're using that.
