I would like to restrict the people menu in HipChat to only admin users

I would like to add an outside team member but not give them have access to all of the other people information in the organization. Is there a way to add them as a user (so they have the full benefits of HipChat unlike as a guest) but not give them access to the names and emails in the people menu? 

I know I can restrict rooms they can use, but it seems like the people menu is always available.

If I'm understanding correctly, you want to be able to have user in HipChat that can not create rooms, view people in the group, or send 1-1 messages to users in the group correct? If that sounds right, that functionality is not supported within HipChat.
