How do I upgrade a HipChat integration?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Developer Documentation: HipChat Developer Documentation

I have a private HipChat integration so I install it using a URL but I can't figure out how to upgrade the integration when I have changed the capability descriptor short of remove and reinstalling which loses my stored settings.

You can reinstall of top of the existing installation, in which case we preserve the oauthId. Make sure to handle this case in your installation flow: when you receive an installation (via callbackUrl), check if you already have an installation for the provided oauthId, and if so, don't wipe out the configuration.

I just tested this. And the oauthId changes for each time the installation is done.

You can go to the /addons page , uninstall the addon and install it again smile
