This sounds like a bug... I would recommend you contact our support folks at support@hipchat.com and they should be able to help diagnose and/or file a bug to be addressed by the developers. If you have detailed steps and screenshots or a video of the problem that would be especially helpful when contacting them!

I'm having the same issue on a windows computer. The bar you click to type stuff in doesn't show up. Anyone know how to fix? If you just type and hit enter it works but you cant see anything you're saying
