Hipchat eats CPU and battery on Sierra

HipChat version: 4.27.0.702
macOS version: Sierra 10.12

"Energy impact" ranges between 30 and 100 averaging at 65.
Specifically, the subprocess "http://myserver.hipchat.com" uses the most energy.

CPU every 10 minutes or so just spikes to 99% and sits there for 2 minutes then drops back down to ~40%, which is still ludicrous for a chat application. Even typing into the HipChat client just slows down to a crawl.
Specifically, again, the subprocess "http://myserver.hipchat.com" uses the most cpu.

Hi Logan,

There is an active ticket on JIRA for this issue:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/HCPUB-1744

Support has worked with a few users on workarounds that seem to reduced the load in the short term, but there doesn't seem to be one silver bullet. Keep an eye on that ticket for future developments. This is definitely a bug the team is aware of and paying attention to.
