Is your HipChat server behind a firewall (i.e., can you access it from the public internet)? If not, then most of the integrations won't work. If you're trying to integrate with another SaaS product, that product will likely need access to HipChat's APIs. If you're trying to integrate it with another Atlassian product that's inside your firewall (e.g., JIRA or Confluence), as long that Atlassian product can access your HipChat server, it should work.
