HipChat -> JIRA integration: Assignee listed as "Anonymous"

When JIRA writes a change in Assignment to HipChat, the assigned user is often shown as "Anonymous" in the summary, but correctly in the detail.

Does anyone know why this is?

This widget could not be displayed.

These two answers (soon to become three?) are not answers at all. This problem is plaguing me but not the others on this project. I was the one who set things up but I used another account as the admin account.

Did you guys get an answer to this some other way?
