It is important that the database users password is not readable for a HipChat Datacenter installation.
All I found out o date: How to configure the database user and password for PostgreSQL.
Two questions:
1. Is it right, that only PostgreSQL DBs can be used with HipChat Server?
2. Is the configuration information (db user and password) stored readable anywhere?
Hi Andreas,
1. Is it right, that only PostgreSQL DBs can be used with HipChat Server?
PostgresSQL 9.5 is the only supported database presently for HipChat Data Center, yes. HipChat Server is different in that we bundle MySQL (MariaDB) and Elasticsearch into the appliance instead of requiring an external database connection.
2. Is the configuration information (db user and password) stored readable anywhere?
Configuration information is stored at /hipchat/config/site.json on each of the HCDC nodes.
