I am attempting to input a link onto my team's confluence page that will redirect other employees to our support HipChat room. I am using the link:
hipchat://example.hipchat.com/chat/room/1234567
The link prompts me to open the HipChat app (mac), but once open, it does not direct me to the chatroom/id. It just opens the app.
Is there a remedy for this or something that I am doing wrong?
Thanks!
Hi, Carl!
Please notice that deep linking in Hipchat only works with specific versions of the clients. For more details, please refer to the following article:

That link is dead, but the page was captured once in the wayback machine... https://web.archive.org/web/20170318052942/https://confluence.atlassian.com/hipchatkb/how-to-use-the-hipchat-url-scheme-755337955.html
Still, this does not seem to work for me with our internal installation, with Mac client Version 4.30.1.759. The examples are all on hipchat.com, maybe that's a requirement for links to work?
The link I have tried is:
hipchat://hipchat.example.com/chat/room/Support+all+teh+things
As Bruno found, this simply launches the app. Can you tell us more?
