HipChat API stopped working - Can't get it to upgrade to v2 or continue using v1 Edited

I have an integration that has been using API V1 for a long time.  It appears that v1 was deprecated, so I'm trying to upgrade it to use v2.

If using V1 I now get an 400 error: "Missing required parameter: email."  Even though the payload has email and name in it.  In that I've been using https://api.hipchat.com/v1/users/create?auth_token=XXXX as the POST URL.  This has worked for a couple of years.

When I try to switch to V2, using the URL in the docs (https://api.hipchat.com/v2/user?auth_token=XXXX), I continually get a 401 error: "Invalid OAuth session."  I'm not seeing anything about an OAuth session in the APIv2 docs, and I'm trying to use the auth token that I've created on the https://ourDomain.hipchat.com/admin/api page.

I'm at a complete loss, as it seems to want a user OAuth token, instead of the Auth API Token, that the docs seem to still point to.  I am only creating, updating, and deleting users with this integration.  Thanks for any assistance.

This widget could not be displayed.

The token you want to use for API v2 requests is generated by going to https://hipchat.com/account/api rather than the old "/admin/api" URL. If you use a token created there by an admin account, you should be able to get past the "Invalid OAuth session" error.

Hope that helps!

Yep, that was it.  How do you navigate to that page?  I can't seem to find a path that gets me there, beside just typing it in.

I found it.  I have to got o my account settings, not the group/company account settings.  Thanks!
