Why can't Guests use the mobile app?
Are there any plans to support it? It really would be handy for me that all guests are getting notifications.

You're correct in that guests cannot login and access HipChat via the mobile app. Guests can only use the web client right now, primarily because a guest, by definition, doesn't have login credentials.
We recognize that many groups have the need for a more robust experience for guests though and we are thinking through how to approach that. So – we agree! Can't promise anything in the near-term, but know that we understand the problem and are thinking about ways to solve that.
