Hi. I can nnot find any detailed documentation about the HipChat Video Service. Our companies Security- and Privacy- Experts fear that the transferred Video-Data - although the communication is encrypted - might be stored at the cloud service or can be viewed or followed by more or less authrorized 3rd-parties on side of the video service provider.
One fear-case example:
In the Video-Chat someone is showing a very exclusive business idea. One popcorn cracking System Engineer - that just should maintain the video service is running on the video.hipchatserver.com side is able to watch conferences anonymously and sees that conversation and steals that business idea...
How can someone assure us that this is impossible? is it possible to create special crontracts with atlassian having huge sums of penalties? We'd like to have more transparency in this case.
Thank you
Is there an answer to this yet? We are thinking about a self-hosted hipchat instance.
Screensharing/video is probably the biggest argument for hipchat but only if we have control over our data.
