Custom addon installation issue

Lucas Stine December 23, 2015

When I install my HipChat addon to my HipChat group, the callbackUrl is call. The object passed down during installation has: "capabilitiesUrl":"https://api.hipchat.com/v2/capabilities" inside the JSON-encoded body.

In the installation section from https://www.hipchat.com/docs/apiv2/addons states:  It is recommended your integration access the capabilities URL to verify the URL is valid, and the application name matches the expected application name.

I am trying to validate the application name, but when I do I get "HipChat" for the application name instead of my addon's name. Is that expected or am I missing something?

Yep. It is as expected.

We are currently working on improving our documentation. Here are the docs for the installation flow: https://developer.atlassian.com/display/HIPCHAT/Installation+flow
