Will HipChat support message threads like Slack does?

If yes, when will it be released?

Threads are feature request we've had on our list for a while now, but they aren't something we currently have on the roadmap. It's a tricky experience to get right, since they change the flow of chat so significantly. However, we do keep track of interest in the feature using our public JIRA tracker: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/HCPUB-2004 - I would recommend going there to watch and vote on the suggestion so that you'll be notified of any updates or changes in progress.
I echo Ernesto's inquiry. I love Hipchat's integrations and sidebar features, but this has quickly become a vital part of our team's workflow in Slack as it enables users to respond in context-specifc ways that saves space in the message history itself.
Really hope this gets prioritized as I'd love to recommend we switch to Hipchat since we use JIRA and Confluence, but the lack of threads + easy, in-app message deletions + no in-app searching makes it unlikely.

Thank you, I voted for it.
It is not the most important feature, I agree, and tricky to do right. But in the mentioned tool they solved it quite good I would day, except that it does not seem possible to re-arrange messages into a thread by the users.
