Change of Active Directory: Different Email Addresses

Hello All!

We plan to use a new Active Directory in the near future. 

All users of the old AD are existing in the new AD. User names (first name, surname) are the same in both directories.

However, most of the users do have different Email-Addresses in the new AD. 

My question is: We are planning to set up a new HipChat server and connect to the new AD. We now would like to keep the chat histories as far as the room configurations.

Is there any possibility to achieve that?

Hello,

Would you consider deploying a new HipChat Server and running an export/import from the existing deploy before configuring AD on the new instance?

After the import on the new instance the email addresses of each user should be updated. Depending on the number of users that may require some scripting (i.e. https://www.hipchat.com/docs/apiv2/method/update_user)

Create a snapshot if possible before enabling AD on the new instance to see if the imported, modified accounts will match up.

Tricky problem!
