Can we limit the file size?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Share files

We need to limit the file sharing capacity, because we have a Hospital Ship that has a limited amount of bandwidth which we need to conserve.

Files sizes in HipChat are already limited to 50MB. Unfortunately, there's no option to restrict them at a more granular level than that. One other option would be to disable files entirely if your bandwidth issues are severe enough. This can be done by going to hipchat.com/admin/preferences, under the header "File sharing".
