Can log into HipChat Web but not into the Desktop Client

I can log into the webpage just fine and see all my rooms but when I try to login to the desktop app, it says unrecognized email. This is on a Mac. I have made an atlassian account but some reason it is linked with stride instead of hip chat so I still can't login. Any idea's?

Can you share your email address so I can check what is the status of the account first before we investigate this issue further? 

Additionally, are you able to launch the web client from the browser? What is the URL that you are pointed to?

I have resolved issue by downloading an older version of the program.
