I'm looking around trying to figure out how to setup HipChat in-house on a VM. I found the OVA, but we don't run VMWARE and converting the OVA to something useful is a lot of goofing around with tar and qemu-image and conveting vmdk files to qemu format, etc, etc.
I found one link talking about a Ubuntu 18.04 repo. This is ideal for my use case but the links in the post don't lead to any instructions. A second link however, claims there will never be a standalone installer for Hipchat.
What I want is to setup a Ubuntu VM, add the Hipchat repo, and install it. Can it work this way?
Thanks
Hi, Dee!
The second link is correct. It is not possible to install Hipchat Server or Hipchat Data Center as a standalone application in your own operating system at the moment. The first link is referring to the Hipchat client, which has multiple versions (Linux, Mac, Windows).
