I want HipChat to start with OS X in the background, like I am able to with Google Hangouts.
The problem with HipChat is that it prompts me to login, when there is no internet connection, wich is always the case if I do not delay the auto start. Very annoying.
What's you way to auto start HipChat in OS X? Maybe any tricks?
I now let DelayedLauncher.app delay the (hidden) start of HipChat, which is a bit of what I am looking for.
The best option to start HipChat when you start your computer is to include it in Login Items (go to System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Select your user and choose the "Login Items" tab). Unfortuantely, there's no great way to delay startup if network isn't avialable at the time.
Ideally, we'll be able to improve the app login process to retry if we fail to connect on the first attempt - it's something we'll look into as a future improvement of the native apps.
