Adding people to conversation

We are using the Windows application. When I mention someone who is not in the room, they are not notified. 1) Can this be done?  2) We typically have 1:1 conversations and it would be nice to pull someone else into the room by mentioning them.  Can this be done? 3) After starting to chat, we find we need someone else to be added to the conversation.Can I add people to a room after the room has been opened?

1. Yes, depending on the room type. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/HIPCHAT/Invite+people#Invitepeople-invite-to-roomInvitingpeopletoaroom.
2. No, 1-to-1 conversations can't be turned into a room. You'd need to create a separate room.
3. Yes, you can add people to a room after it's been created. (Same link as above.)
