When will the JIRA GitHub Issue Importer be supported for JIRA 6.1?

Jon Martin January 14, 2014

I recently purchased JIRA, JIRA Agile and Confluence v6.1.5 (Starter licenses) towards a Pilot project with the goal of moving from GitHub. I would like to import existing GitHub issues into Jira to confirm the POC against current project tasks. The importer tool is not supported with the latest version.

Are there plans to do so? If not, what other options do I have to accomplish importing GitHub issues into Jira?

Created ticket in Jira Importerts Plugin queue requesting RC version of Importer tool. Marking this as answered, assuming I can get the RC version.

Hello Jon,

GitHub importer will be supported for JIRA 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2+. I cannot give you a precise ETA (it's currently under our QA process), but the new version 2.0 of the importer should be availiable on Marketplace in January.

If the following ETA is not acceptable for you, please open a ticket under JIM Project: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/JIM- where I can provide for you an RC version of this plugin (which should be working perfectly).

Ok, thanks. I'm accelerating our pilot project so that we can confirm our project needs would be met. I know it will because I've used Jira before, but I need to show it to the business and teams. I would like to purchases additional licenses asap to transition our process and toolsets to Jira, Jira Agile and Confluence. I will submit a ticket so that I can get an RC version asap.

Ignorant question: I'm not seeing ability to open a ticket at the url provided. Do I need to be logged in? If so I'm not an OnDemand user, so I don't know if I have an account to do so.

Yes - you need an account. You can quickly create one - the link is on the login screen. Make sure that you create a ticket for Project: Jira Importerts Plugin (JIM)
