Two-factor-authentication not working with Git on El Capitan

The Bong Traveler July 24, 2019

Hi there,

SourceTree: 2.7.1 (it always fail to update to 2.7.6)

macOS: 10.11.6

Embedded-Git: 2.17.1

I found the most-closed existing thread to this problem at here - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Sourcetree-questions/Sourcetree-on-OSX-not-working-after-enabling-Two-Factor/qaq-p/1037880. However, the solution didn't worked for me.

I'm trying to add a new account (Preferences -> Accounts):

ScreenshotA.png

Every time I click on 'Connect Account' it opens me the Git authentication window followed by two-factor-authentication-code - when I input everything the page shows me following, but never updates therefore:

Clicking on 'Click here' link also doesn't do anything even after waiting for a long time. The only option to the window is 'Cancel' and if I do that - no Account get added to SourceTree.

Please, help.

Hi @The Bong Traveler,

We needed to make a breaking change for authentication in 3.0 which unfortunately means that only already authenticated accounts for Bitbucket are usable in 2.x. At this point we no longer support anything under 10.13 based on a variety of factors.
