From where can I download a Git server version 2.19.x for RHEL 7 OS

Thomas Beck January 8, 2020

I could not find the git server version 2.19.x.

Normally I found the required version here.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL

But there is no newer version available.

From where can I doanload a RPM package for RHEL 7 Servers?

Thx

Hi,

On RHEL 7 - you may use 'yum' installer to upgrade the Git. Here is the link,

https://git-scm.com/download/linux

Check if that gives you the right Git version you want.

Alternately, you can download the required Git from this

https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/

and compile from source. Check out readme file for more info
