Workflow validator forms - message in portal

Marije May 11, 2022

I'm using workflow validator where is validates if all the forms are submitted.

It works great in JSD project agent view where a error message is shown.

But it doesn't work in the portal view when a internal customer transitions the ticket to the next status. There is no warning shown in the portal view and the issue transitions to the next status.

Is there a way to prevent the ticket transitioning to next status in the portal?

Hi @Marije

Reading you question, my assumption is that the user has the option to change the issue status in the workflow?

This means that in the used workflow, the specific transition(s) are visible for the user. You then should remove these a an option on the portal.

See the following documentation: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/show-a-workflow-transition-in-the-portal/

What you experience is due to the fact Customers are not Jira users and validators in workflows don't apply to portal users.

See also reported bug, https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-4007 and open suggestion for this, https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-5853

Kind regards,

Marc
