Will I ever be able to use REGEX in EyeQL?

I can't imagine this question hasn't been asked before, but I can't seem to find a straight answer.  I want to be able to use regular expressions when searching the content of files in FishEye.  It's simple enough at the command line when interacting with the code, but I'd like to be able to do so in FE.  Is there an issue for this?  What is Atlassian's position on this?

The feature request for regex searching is tracked at FE-824. Feel free to vote on the issue and add yourself as a Watcher to be notified of its progress.
