Installation of multiple addons - Fisheye, Crucible, Confluence

Netsafe January 13, 2013

When looking to install JIRA addons, the documentation is confusing. Crucible install guide for Windows references Fisheye and appears to indicate that Crucible is a more feature rich version of that product. Each references the other product and there is no indication which should be installed first (if necessary). Also, the need for 32bit Java on an x64 Windows server for the Windows service function also appears to fail - Windows does not see the installation Please help!

Hi there,

FishEye and Crucible are essentially two products in one bundle, (with one installer), but they require separate licenses so this is why Crucible appears to be a more feature rich version of the product, (as it extends the functionality of FishEye).

When you say that setting up the Windows Service is failing, can I ask whether you are using the Java Service Wrapper, as described in this document? https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE/Running+FishEye+as+a+Windows+service#RunningFishEyeasaWindowsservice-InstallingtheJavaServiceWrapper

If you have followed all the instructions in that document and the install still isn't working, please open a ticket with Support in the FishEye project and one of our engineers will advise you on how to get this configured.

All the best,
John
