Fisheye - searching for special characters

Using Fisheye, in the Search Criteria section, I want to search for "year(" in the Contents. The parenthesis is being ignored and it is matching all occurences of "year".

Is there any way to include the parenthesis in my search?

Escaping the parenthesis also has no effect, ie "year\(" and "year\\("

Further searching around this site brought me to a bug, https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-25092 which has been outstanding for over 2 years now. Does this mean I am out of luck?
