[Crucible] Flow of the crucible review

Hi,

this is a normal crucible review flow:

------------------------------------------------
1) Author -> Create review
2) Author -> Add reviewers
3) Author -> Start review (review goes into "Outbox->Out For Review" for the Creator, and into "Inbox To Review" for Reviewers)

4) Reviewers -> Add comment
5) Creator -> Replies
6) Reviewers -> Add comment
7) Creator -> Replies
...
10) Reviewers -> Complete review (review goes into "Outbox->Completed" for reviewers, and into "Inbox->Ready to Close" for the Creator)
11) Author -> Close review (review goes into "Archive->Closed" for the Creator)
------------------------------------------------

So, all the time during review both sides (Creators and Reviewers) must check a review for comments and replies.

My question is: Is there any way to incomplete review by the Creator (somewhere between points 10 and 11) and changing review status (Reviewers->Incomplete ==> Reviewers->Open), so the review goes into "Outbox->Out For Review" for the Creator, and "Inbox->To Review" for Reviewers? Here is an example:

------------------------------------------------
1) Author -> Create review
2) Author -> Add reviewers
3) Author -> Start review (review goes into "Outbox->Out For Review" for the Creator, and into "Inbox To Review" for Reviewers)

4) Reviewers -> Add comment
5) Reviewers -> Add comment
...

10) Reviewers -> Complete review (review goes into "Outbox->Completed" for reviewers, and into "Inbox->Ready to Close" for the Creator)
11) Creator -> Reply comment
12) Creator -> Reply comment
...
15) Creator -> Incomplete review (review goes into "Outbox->Out For Review" for the Creator, and into "Inbox->To Review" for the Reviewers)

16) Reviewers -> Add comment
17) Reviewers -> Add comment
10) Reviewers -> Complete review (review goes into "Outbox->Completed" for reviewers, and into "Inbox->Ready to Close" for the Creator)

11) Author -> Close review (review goes into "Archive->Closed" for the Creator)
------------------------------------------------

The standard crucible flow is a little bit problematic and unclear when Creator have some doubts about reviewers comments and suggestions. For me the better way for both sides (Creators and Reviewers) is when Creator clearly know when the review is done (he can see it in his Inbox) and than he can refer to Reviewers comments giving them back his replies and sending the review to the Reviewer's Inbox (review can have meny cycles).

Hi Michał,

Unfortunately there is no such transition available at the moment. In order to uncomplete review for others review creator would need to either:

  • add more content to review (as a workaround you could upload empty file and delete it)
  • raise a defect on a review (just add a comment and mark it as "defect")

There is an feature request opened for such transition to be added, feel free to vote and comment on it: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CRUC-6047

Hope that helps,
