When a user marks any answer as accepted, it shows on my notifications

Hi Community Managers (and Community Leaders)!

I have a question concerning the way notifications are generated about accepted answers. And what I mean by that is that, If I answer a question that has 1 or more answers from other users, I receive a notification that my answer was accepted, even if the user accepted somebody else's answer!

  • Does this happen to you as well?
  • Is this a bug?
    • If yes, will it be fixed?
    • If no, is it intentionally so as to see that the user accepted an answer?

Imo, I believe that whenever a user marks an answer as accepted that it isn't yours, then maybe the notification message could just be "USER accepted an answer to TOPIC NAME", instead of "your answer". What do you think?

Same here. I've been ignoring it, but it would be certainly nice to have a more specific message for each of the scenarios described. Thanks for bringing this up.

I can confirm that @Alex Koxaras _Relational_. I also got a notification that someone accepted my answer. However, I didn't add an answer to that question. I did however comment on the answer - maybe that triggered it.

I'll raise it with the Community team.

Hello @Alex Koxaras _Relational_

I also receive these notifications.

Thanks for creating this post and I agree with your request that notification message should be changed or only the person whose answer was accepted should get that notification.
