How do you document time and tasks of a Project Manager?

Michele Snow July 7, 2021

There are a number of items that I do day to day that do not flow with our sprint planning. What is the best way to track Project Manager's tasks? I need some ideas.

Hi @Michele Snow

Please consider why you are doing those other work items, and how your capacity/availability impacts your team.  When the items are necessary for the same effort, perhaps putting them in the same place as the team's work could help others see your capacity/availability, and where they can help.

When the tasks are "other stuff and things" (which project managers often have... :^) consider if you instead want to use a personal Kanban board, set up in Jira as a team-managed project or a Trello board.  Of note: whenever you have work on two different boards, it may conceal from the audiences of both boards what your true capacity and focus are.

Best regards,
Bill

Hi @Michele Snow welcome to the Atlassian community.

When you start Jira instance set up, you might have linked confluence tool as well. You can use confluence to set up a page and draft all the activities and tasks. You can also restrict that page to be accessed or modified by any other person's with your organization.

This way you have a good view on your daily tasks apart from Sprint activities.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
