Are email notifications working correctly on answers.atlassian.com ?

I get the feeling that notifications aren't working quite right. E.g. https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/1585/disable-indexing-in-confluence I think others have commented to this effect too.

I did a bit of housekeeping on this issue:

  1. Converted @Jobin Kurivilla's comment to an Answer (it's a good answer)
  2. Reopened it (closing is really for duplicate questions, whereas accepting answers is for regular resolved).

As for the issue itself let's move the discussion into JIRA (ANSWERS-117).
