No - currently there are no karma points awarded for having one of your comments liked (just liked your above comment to confirm). The thinking behind it is that comments are more for debate of an answer - if a new answer is reached, you can post a proper answer and vote down the original answer that spawned the debate.

But on the flipside, I see that people are adding answers that are just comments, and they can get rewarded for that (even though they can also get downvoted, but downvoting happens less often). By allowing liking of comments to add karma, you provide less incentive for the more knowledgeable users on answers.atlassian.com to take advantage of this disparity.

You raise a great point. This site is still evolving so I will share your input with the designers.

The 'Nice Question' https://answers.atlassian.com/badges/4/nice-question or 'Nice Answer' https://answers.atlassian.com/badges/7/nice-answer badges are probably the ones you are looking for.

Cheers for the reply Alain. Bit confused as it looks like questions and answers are separate from comments in this forum....? Possibly should be a Nice Comment badge....?

Ok - so looks like having your comment "liked" serves to rank them under an answer or a question but does not give you any karma....? Doesn't physically move them but just gives them a score.

The closest thing to "like" is having your question favorited. The badges for that are Favorite Question and Stellar Question.

Answers and comments do not have an option for liking or favoriting. These are ranked only by voting and the badges for them are Good Answer, Guru, and Great Answer.
