Enterprise releases are now called Long Term Support releases

As of June 29th, 2020, Enterprise releases are now called Long Term Support releases. The security bug fix policy for these releases was also updated - we will continue to backport critical security bug fixes and now when architecturally possible, all other security bug fixes are backported to the release for 24 months. Managing your current version of Jira feels like driving your trusty old Volvo. You've been through thick and thin together as you've kept up with its maintenance and understand the nuances of how it operates. So when you're ready to trade it in for a new car, you'll also have questions like: What are the best possible safety ratings? We're excited to share that Jira Software Server & Data Center 7.13 is our latest Enterprise release line. 

How is an Enterprise release different from other release types?

• Enterprise releases receive additional backported bug fixes and security updates from later feature releases throughout its two-year support window.
• If you manage a large, complex deployment of Jira and require significant effort to upgrade, an Enterprise release ensures you can remain on the release for longer if you prefer. 

Which features have been introduced since Jira Software 7.6? 

• At the start of 2018, we announced the Jira Software 7.6 Enterprise release. In the first 6 months since declaring 7.6 an Enterprise release, customers who have adopted version 7.6 or newer have experienced up to a 25% improvement in product stability than their counterparts on older versions.

Always upgrade to the latest bug fix release

The Enterprise release designation applies to the entire feature release. So if you're planning to upgrade to Jira Software 7.13, always upgrade to its latest available bug fix release.
