Last week many mourned the loss of soul diva, Aretha Franklin. Ariana Grande was one of many celebrities who performed at Aretha's funeral. Shortly after, pictures swarmed the internet of Ariana Grande's uncomfortable body language after being held tightly by the Bishop.
I'd like to discuss the following with the group:
1. Does your organization have a standard, process, or representative in place to address assault or harassment in the workplace?
2. How can organizations create a zero-tolerance sexual assault/harassment culture and climate?
If someone is constantly threatening you, stalking you, trying to harass you sexually, or refusing to leave you alone, you need to learn how to protect yourself. First, tell the person you don't like his behaviour and ask him to stop. If the harassment continues, take action (for example, involve the police and increase your security). In some cases, people do not know how to deal with sextortion, so it may be necessary to file a petition for a restraining order to keep the intrusive person away.
Hey Mary!
Answering the first question, here at Atlassian we do have people here to go to when we feel uncomfortable in the work environment. That would be our Human Resources team, they help with any types of emotional or physical problems were dealing with in the work environment. That includes sexual harassment, racism, etc... any of which is in violation of our privacy and feelings.
