upgrade from 5.1.2 to 5.2.3

Matthew Rooney October 20, 2014

Hi folks,

I ran the upgrade on an ubuntu server for a standalone instance of confluence but when I go to the home page I get a page not found error on confluence.

See errors in atlassian-confluence logs - http://justpaste.it/hn6j

I'm not sure what I'm missing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Matt

Hey Matt,

First, may I ask you which steps did you follow to perform the upgrade?

Since you've just upgraded your Confluence, would you please perform the following steps to clear your plugin cache? This issue could be related to corrupted plugin cache:
1. Shutdown Confluence
2. Ensure the user running Confluence has full read/write privileges to the confluence-home directory.
3. Remove the following directories
warning This will remove the plugin cache files only and will not permanently remove any plugins. These directories will be recreated during the next Confluence startup. However, some third-party plugins may store metadata in these directories, so we recommend creating a temporary backup of the directories.

<confluence-home>/bundled-plugins
<confluence-home>/plugins-cache
<confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache
<confluence-home>/plugins-temp
<confluence-home>/bundled-plugins_language

4. Start Confluence

In case it does not fix the issue, we will probably need to investigate the whole log file and verify whether there was any failed step when performing the upgrade.

I hope it helps!

Best regards,

Eduardo Mallmann
