typing in a column macro

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Page Layouts, Columns and Sections

When I click on a column macro on my page, I am unable to type what I want in the column.

When you click in the body of the Column macro, do you get the flashing i-beam?

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I can't figure out the pattern.

So you have Column macros within a Section macro, is the Section macro in another macro, such as the Label macro?
