search box in Global Look and Feel?

I'm preparing for upgrade to Confluence 5.5 and am taking it for a testdrive :)

Currently we use the document theme extensively. I'm looking at the new Global look and feel, it is very nice and I would like to use it.

Is it possible to get a search macro embedded in the left panel using Global theme? It seems to be the only thing missing from the old documentation theme.

If it isn't possible using simple GUI configuration, is it possible by editing some HTML files?

Hello Johan,

There is a search box located on the top right location of Confluence which serves for any needed search. In case you still would like to insert a specific search box into the left pane, you might be able to do so with some development. You can start from our advanced customizing documentation page.

Hope this is good to get you started.
