In this case, you need to get the XML file from the pie chart in JIRA locally, then add to your External Gadget in Confluence when you should be able to see the pie chart.
If it's an external JIRA, it could be hitting your authentication, you can check if you can access the URL from your browser. If you can access it means that there's no problem with authentication.
Follow your approach. It works.
But I still have a little problem . Now I have to click" Login & approve" to show the pie chart. It seems can be avoide by allowing 2-Legged OAuth authentication. I can found the 2-Legged OAuth authentication configuration in JIRA 6.2. But I can NOT find it in my confluence 4.3 instance. Did confluence 4 support 2-legged OAuth. If not how can I avoide to click the Login&Approve button?
