office file change history

does confluence store any type of changes to office documents changed/edited?

Attachments that are edited are versioned in Confluence. If you click the little arrow next to the attachments you will see the previous versions.

If you download, edit and upload with the same name (or edit in place), each revision will be numbered and date stamped.  It's not a difference log, it's simple set of objects with versions.
