jira and confluence users sync

Vladimir Kravtsov December 8, 2011

We have a jira with 50 users license and confluence with 10 users license. I want to sync their users database and use in confluence only particular 10 users. Can it be done somehow ? (we can setup crowd if needed). Or the only way is to buy confluence 50 users license ?

hi Vladimir,

Just correcting my post as a colleague pointed that this won't work. Actually if you try to setup a JIRA user management in Confluence, this will place all JIRA users in Confluence as well. This is hard coded.

In order to get what you want, you would need a Crowd user management tool in which you will be able to manage the users and which applications they are able to login, thus selecting only 10 users to access confluence for example.

I hope this helps and sorry about the confusion.

Regards,

Rodrigo
