how do you remove "excerpt" from a section?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Excerpt Macro

I have added an "exerpt" but I realized I needed to include less than I did. How do I remove "excerpt" without removing the content?

I'm not sure I'm understanding the question correctly, but why can't you copy the text inside the excerpt macro to a place in the page that is outside that excerpt macro and then simply remove the excerpt macro?

That is what I ended up doing. I just wasn't sure if there was an "edit" excerpt option.
