disable notification in confluence

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Managing service desk notifications

Is there any way to turn off those annoying messages that keep flashing up on Confluence? It just keeps repeating the same information about passwords, restarts etc. Not only is it distracting but the message has to be removed in order to access the save button at the bottom of the screen when editing?
