confluence-users vs. separate group

DBL L August 24, 2022

I setup a new site group and have a space that I've created with view all and add attachments for that group.  I added a user to the new group and removed the user from the default confluence-users group.  When I try to access the space with this user I get "You've stumbled on restricted content"

Can someone explain how to limit a user to certain spaces only.  I'm trying to get around the inability to invite external people to our spaces.

I had locked the space down previously and forgot to add the group.

This sounds like you have not given them an account that can log in, if you've removed them from Confluence users.  Do they have site access?

The other thing it might be is that someone has restricted that page, and your user is not in the allowed users.
