Hello there,

Yes, it is possible. We have general steps to install Confluence on Linux. This should be basically the same on CentOS since it's a Linux based OS.

Please follow these instructions for the installation process, and let us know should you have any questions.

Thank you!

Kind regards,

It's already installed. The problem you have here is that the user you are installing confluence on can't read/write the directories you are trying to install it in.

Hsu Yao Chang July 27, 2015

But we use root account to install confluence. How can we solve the permission issue ? Thank you.

You need to correct the permissions. The installer will have set them correctly for the user you should be running them as if you ran it as root, so you need undo whatever changes you made to permissions after you installed it.

That's an unusual error and not one that really points us at anything specific, although it does suggest that the database is incorrectly configured. Is this happening while confluence is starting, or does it only happen when you start trying to reach it with the browser? Are there other errors in the log? Also, could you check atlassian-confluence.log for any errors as well? (It's in confluence-home/log )

The ./ has a space after it - that won't work. It's "./program-to-run" not "./ program-to-run"

I'm not sure what the question means, but you can rebuild a Confluence system from a database backup.

Basically anywhere you can run Java you can run Confluence. I've had it on a variety of OS over the time I've run our instance here (currently Windows 2012 R2, 4vCPU and 6GB RAM with PostgreSQL - very very fast)

Yes, CentOS is a supported operating system for Atlassian stuff.
