i am trying to edit an office file that is saved as an attachment in confluence. i would like myself and my teammates to edit the file without having each one of us download the file then upload a new version. that will hopefully minimize overwritting each other.
When i go the attachements page, i tried to click on "Edit in Office" link and nothing is happening. i tried to install the "Office connector plugin" but when i try to configure it, i get a permission error.
can you please advice how can i edit an office document?
i am on a mac and fireforx for browser. i do have office installed on my mac
i have the add-on installed. from the link you sent, it suggest having open office installed if on a mac. i only have microsoft office installed on my mac
You are right, in the configuration matrix it says it needs to be OpenOffice.
Could you try to install and see if that works? If so, that might me the only way. But if it does not, it is definitely a problem with the add-on.
[EDIT] Just one more thing... did you try the workaround (it's in the botton of the page, under "Notes")?

Hi Wissam,
Did you install the Firefox add-on for the Office Connector?
If not, please, follow these steps: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Installing+the+Firefox+Add-On+for+the+Office+Connector
Here (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Editing+an+Office+Document+from+Confluence) you can find more info on how to open this kind of files.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
